Inspired by the views of the sky and the ivy carpet, UWO (unidentified wooden object) was an iconic object in Pieštany, attracting locals to the wilderness just across the river from one of the jewels of Slovak Modern architecture – the House of Arts. The name of the object refers to the alien nature of the object in its surrounding, as well as to the undefined use of this piece of public furniture, inviting visitors to explore. Its structure is also unique, thanks to the bent wood frame and no use of glue.
